A routing that does not start

The essentials

The “+” and boat buttons are greyed. They are inactive as long as a routing calculation is running. Wait for the end of the calculation: they become active again by themselves.

The “+” starts nothing. Before calculating, the app needs a recent boat position (less than 10 minutes) and its data. If not, it shows a message: see Error messages. While it fetches information from the Internet, a waiting indicator can be shown: a slow connection or many players loading the weather at the same time can lengthen the wait. Be patient.

“No isochrone”. An isochrone is the line joining the points where the boat can be at the same instant. The routing calculates them one after the other; the message “The routing stopped because no isochrone could be calculated. Please try again, and contact us if it happens again.” means that at some step of the calculation no reachable point could be found for the next one. Try in this order:

  1. try again after waiting for a new boat position;
  2. move the target a little;
  3. reload the weather: Settings > Display, “Reload weather forecast” button;
  4. check that the boat is not in an exclusion zone (ice, restricted zone): you must leave it in Virtual Regatta;
  5. if it happens again, contact us.

Going further

  • Send-orders button. The app no longer removes it: if the boat position used for the routing is several minutes old, it asks “Send the orders to VR anyway?”. Calculating the routing again updates the position.
  • A routing that stops before the target. This is not a start failure: see the messages “maximum duration”, “end of the weather forecast” and “no longer gets closer” in Error messages.
